VERSE 1
The other night I looked across the room
And I caught you smiling back at me
Just for a moment it was all brand new
We were two young lovers without a history
And did you know what I was thinking?
Well, I’ll bet you didn’t have a clue
But in my mind I had you in my arms
And I spent the night making sweet love with you

CHORUS
After all this time you still move me
You still make me feel alive
After all this time I still want you
Yeah, the fire burns inside
After all this time

VERSE 2
We get so busy living day to day
We don’t notice the years when they go by
We take things for granted and forget to say
Words of love and affection buried deep inside
But when I stop the world and all is calm
Beneath the surface I can see
That all the yearnings that I thought were gone
Well, they’re stronger now than they use to be

CHORUS
After all this time you still move me
You still make me feel alive
After all this time I still want you
Yeah, the fire burns inside
After all this time

BRIDGE
Some think that time is a raging river
Sweeping each moment away
But time is the garden where seeds of passion
Quietly grow where they lay
Getting stronger and stronger each day

CHORUS
After all this time you still move me
You still make me feel alive
After all this time I still want you
Yeah, the fire burns inside
After all this time

Behind the Music

A tune about the flame that never goes out. Although this was meant to be a pop-rock tune, many have told me that they can hear this as a contemporary country song. I guess I can sort of see what they mean, but I’ll definitely have to make a few tweaks and remix it when I get a chance.
